Dear Mother

I can’t emphasise enough how much my mother means to me.

I can’t begin to explain how much my mother does for me.

EVERYTHING. She does it all.

She hugs me when I’m sad. She pats me on the back when I succeed. She holds my hand when I’m afraid. She helps me heal when I’m injured. She stood by my bedside for a month when I was ill. She has loved me since 1983 and until 2015, I had no idea how much that filled her heart.

Not until I became a mother, did I understand exactly how much loving goes into loving your child. Now that I am, I appreciate everything my mother has ever done so much more.

All the times she worried and stressed. The times I’ve told her not to be silly when really, she had every right to. The times I messed up and she forgave me. The times she got really mad at me, for my own good. All the times she protected me from the world. All the times she let me learn the lessons for myself. All the times mom always knew best.

For everything…  I am thankful!

I am thankful for another year of her life to be celebrated. Another year I am the luckiest person in the world. If I could be half the mother my mother is, I’d be happy!

Thank you mom, for being everything you are to me and thank you for everything you do!
