According to Urbandictionary.com “keep on keepin’ on” refers to “the act of doing what you have been doing but an encouragement to do it more.” This week I’ve been feeling rather under the weather and posting has felt a bit more like a chore than a joy. I’ve literally had to prop my head up to write these posts but luckily, they’ve come out not too awfully.
Rome wasn’t built in a day
Today my post is about those moments when you feel like giving up, when you feel like the time has come to just throw in the towel and give up on something you’ve been working at for what seems like forever, without any returns. Today, I’m here to tell you to have patience with yourself and give yourself time to get there. A saying that really hits the nail on the head is “Rome wasn’t built in a day,” I mean nothing is more true than that! Don’t be too hard on yourself when the going gets tough. Just remember that everything takes time.
A new chance to make it happen
Today, April 1st, a day when nothing that appears in the media can be trusted is also a day of new beginnings. It’s the start of a new month and seriously, can you believe we are already four months into the year? I feel like the year has just started. Anyway, get the folly out the way today and then tomorrow, put your head down and get back to it. Get back to creating the life you want to live. The life you know you deserve. Believe in your abilities to make things happen. Only you know what your dreams are, only you know what will truly make you happy.
Find the path that leads you to where you need to go
Honestly, if giving up on something that just isn’t working is what’s going to make you happy, then do that because it really is such a personal thing. There is no shame in following the path that you know is right for you. People will judge you no matter what you do, there are going to be those who support your decision and those who don’t. There are going to be moments of complete weakness when you don’t know how you got where you are or how you can move forward but what matters is that you assess the situation and do something. Do anything, get up and walk around the block if that’s what it takes to get inspiration. Just get up, get out there and get started on making things happen.
Do it for you
Stop worrying about what other people think, stop worrying about the outcomes, stop worrying about failing, or winning and just do it. Do that thing that you have always wanted to do but been too scared to do because only then can you really know. Win or lose, what’s most important is that you keep on working towards achieving those goals, goals which may change and shift as you do. That’s okay too, just don’t give up searching for and achieving your purpose.
Just keep on keepin’ on.
