Okay this is basically a no brainer. How do you make choices that are right for you but other people don’t agree with? You just say “F#CK IT” and you make them anyway.
Life is too short to do what other people want you to do.
Read this article I wrote about seeking approval. You just can’t live for other people because it will make you so miserable.
Why am I writing about this issue you may wonder? Or not… but I’m going to tell you anyway.
Making the choice to start a blog changed my life
Over the course of the last few months, as I’ve been getting more and more into the wonderful world of blogging, I’ve spoken to quite a few skeptics. People who ask what you’re up to and when you say “blogging” they turn their noses in the air and act all superior on you.
Okay now if there is one thing I know, it’s just how blessed I am to be able to follow my heart and do what I love. I’m not an idiot. I know how tough this economic climate is. I know how hard it is to survive off one persons income so I’m grateful to be in the position to follow my heart. Following your heart is damn important in the path to happiness. You need to do what makes your heart sing. Blogging does that for me in a way that not so much has in the past. When I’m blogging, when I’m reading up on blogging and the digital world, I’m so happy in a way that I didn’t know before.
I have always known that one day, when I have children, I want to be a stay at home mom. The only problem with this plan is that I find being at home all day INCREDIBLY boring. The solution? Having something that fills my day up and means I’m not sitting around all day being “a stay at home mom”. I get to have both worlds. I get to be home while my baby needs me. I get to experience his world and his development and all the things that I really don’t want to miss but at the same time, I get to develop my blog, my brand and my business. Seems like a win-win situation.
People say things to me like “oh but how will you earn money?”
I know of very few people who have started a business and launched straight into pulling 6 figure salaries so to answer that question, I probably won’t. I probably won’t for a really long time but eventually… my blog will be something more than an online journal and I’ll get to make money. Probably not a lot at first but one day… who knows? That’s the plan anyway. Not that it even matters. All that matters is that I’m happy. I’m happy in a way that I’ve never been before because I feel so personally fulfilled.
See what others have to say
I read other blog posts by Andrea and Shauna about how blogging changed their lives and maybe you’ll better understand how it can truly have a profound impact on someone’s life.

Take that leap
You can’t know how your life will change until that moment when you step up to the plate and do something magical. So take that risk that you’ve always been too afraid to take. Make that leap that changes everything. Who cares what they think?
