If You Want to Succeed, Be Prepared to Work for it!

6th November 2018 By Jonelle Leave a Comment

If you want to succeed, be prepared to work for it!

There are so many people out there who don’t want to see you succeed. Those are the people you need to eliminate from your life. The ones who hold you back, who discourage you, who tell you it’s too hard and it isn’t possible.

It is always possible.

Life has this funny way of letting you have exactly what you want, if you choose to work for it.

I’m not one of those people who says “let’s pray and it will happen” I’m not bashing religion, I really believe that even God would expect you to put the effort in yourself if you really wanted something.

If you ASK, you shall receive

The trick is, you can’t ask and then sit on the couch and let life happen, you have to ask and then get up and make that shit happen!!

People tell me ALL THE TIME how lucky I am to be living the life I live.

And I won’t lie, I wake up every single day in this life and I believe I’m lucky. But I’m not lucky because I woke up one day and BOOM it had all happened to me. I made sacrifice after sacrifice after sacrifice.

Luck to me, is about having goals and then working your ass off until you’re so lucky that your dreams come true!

“Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.” – Seneca

It doesn’t matter how long it takes you.

It doesn’t matter who gets there first.

What matters is having a goal and making a plan and having the courage to make that shit your reality!

People will always try to tell you it’s too hard – those are the people who don’t belong in your life.

Believe in yourself.

Believe that ANYTHING is possible.

I can honestly say that I’ve achieved every single goal I ever set for myself – except becoming a lawyer because I got close enough and realise that the dream wasn’t working for me and I changed direction.

Am I lucky? You bet.

Do I hope and pray it’ll happen to me? FUCK no.

“I’m a greater believer in luck, and I find the harder I work the more I have of it” ― Thomas Jefferson

I set my sights on what I believe in and I make the sacrifices and put in the work needed to get there.

You might not always be the most “fun” person, you might miss out on a lot of right now satisfaction but keeping your eye on the prize is what really matters most!

Believe that anything is possible – but know that you have to work for it!

You can achieve anything you set your mind to!

Know what you want.

Know HOW to achieve it.

Be prepared to make sacrifices to make it happen.

Most importantly, be inspired by other people but stop thinking that there is limited light. Just because someone else is shining brightly, does not mean you can’t too!

We must believe in luck. For how else can we explain the success of those we don’t like? – Jean Cocteau

Just because someone else is living their truth, does not mean you can’t too!

I make no apologies for the bridges I’ve burnt along the way. Not everyone needs to be on your journey with you. I make no apologies for the sacrifices I’ve made. I make no apologies for living my truth.

If you want to succeed, be prepared to have to work for it!

Luck isn’t something that happens to you. It’s something you create!

A weird mix of the old and the new. This beautiful book from @theaxelife_ , a gift from my old team, my wonderful friends chose it for me because I love plants and I love interiors and I couldn't feel more seen. You join a team to do a job and walking away with true friends is the best part.

My new @sabenltd bag, is packed and ready for my first day at my new job tomorrow. Complete with notebook, pens and absolute panic 👾

Couldn't be more overwhelmed or more terrified but I'm thankful for people who love me who I adore and if you know me, you know I love a great bag! Ready for this.
