How do you forgive? You just do. Seriously. I’m talking like it’s easy, if it were so easy we wouldn’t be carrying around all the baggage from our childhood, teenage life, mid-life crisis straight on into early retirement. So how do we do it? Again, you just do. No one said it’s easy but hell if you can get this one right you’re sorted. You wake up one day and you make a decision, you decide that from today on, you’re done. You’re done being stressed over the crap that
Only you are in control of your destiny. “Your destiny is to fulfil those things upon which you focus most intently. So choose to keep your focus on that which is truly magnificent, beautiful, uplifting and joyful. Your life is always moving toward something.” Ralph Marston Only you have the power to truly know your dreams and your desires. “Nothing much happens without a dream. For something really great to happen, it takes a really great dream.” Robert Greenleaf What are the things that motivate you? “Some people want it to happen, some
As far back as I can remember, I’ve lived by the idea that if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. The idea is that in order to get where you want to be, you need to have a map to get there. In life, that map is based on where you want to be in the future and what you want to achieve. In this light, our goals are directly linked to the plans we make. You need to set goals that will help you to achieve your
If there is one thing I can’t stand it’s clutter. I honestly cannot handle things lying around where they should not be. Now there is a huge difference between a collection of something and clutter. So, that giant pile of books in the corner of my dining room, the one that has been waiting for a book shelf for the last two years – that’s a collection. The bowl on the shelf with bits and bobs that get left on the kitchen counter and have no home – that’s clutter.
I’ve spent so much time trying to figure out exactly what to do with my own life and getting it totally wrong but what really matters in the end is that I didn’t give up and now I’ve finally settled into a life I absolutely love and wouldn’t change. Now that I’m happy, I really just want others to be happy so here’s my little contribution to the world. Here are the links for previous articles I’ve written on exactly this subject. Hope it helps <3 How to find
Life isn’t always the kindest. Sometimes it knocks us to our knees. We could be walking along one second and the next, we’re down on the ground not knowing what the f*ck just happened. It’s in those moments that we are defined. The way I see it, we can react in two ways. We can keep lying on the ground or we can get the hell up and figure out where to next. This is big talk. It’s really not easy but that doesn’t mean it isn’t possible. Nothing worth having
Starting a blog isn’t the hardest thing to do but when you arrive in blogland with no prior knowledge it can be completely overwhelming. It’s really useful to read a hell of a lot of posts by other bloggers on the topic. When I got started I had NO idea where to go and how to start and it was quite a lot like fumbling around in the dark. I didn’t know what a self-hosted account was or how to choose a blogging platform. Worst of all, it seems like there are
Okay this is basically a no brainer. How do you make choices that are right for you but other people don’t agree with? You just say “F#CK IT” and you make them anyway. Life is too short to do what other people want you to do. Read this article I wrote about seeking approval. You just can’t live for other people because it will make you so miserable. Why am I writing about this issue you may wonder? Or not… but I’m going to tell you anyway. Making the choice
It starts with you! We read magazines, they tell us to hate ourselves. They tell us we’re not good enough, not thin enough, not pretty enough. But we are. We are perfect. We just need to start loving ourselves. Self-love It’s not easy but it starts with small habits. Ignoring the niggling thoughts that tell us we should be something else. Accept the compliments when they come in. Look at the things about us that are wonderful. Appreciate the things about ourselves that we love. I love my lips. My
How many times has someone said “You look beautiful today” and you’ve responded with “oh no, I look so fat” We put ourselves down when we should be picking ourselves up.
According to Urbandictionary.com “keep on keepin’ on” refers to “the act of doing what you have been doing but an encouragement to do it more.” This week I’ve been feeling rather under the weather and posting has felt a bit more like a chore than a joy. I’ve literally had to prop my head up to write these posts but luckily, they’ve come out not too awfully. Rome wasn’t built in a day Today my post is about those moments when you feel like giving up, when you feel like the
Here’s how to achieve your goals! Too often, people are so caught up with the idea of money and power that they forget to consider the legacy they want to leave behind in this world and the things that they want to achieve in this world today. Make sure you take the time to actually achieve your goals so that you don’t look back at your life with regrets. In order to live a life that you will be proud of one day when you look back in time, make sure
“Nothing is as important as passion. No matter what you want to do with your life, be passionate.” Jon Bon Jovi Find your passion and you find your purpose, was about living your life in a way that is true to your passion but we might not always know what our passions are. Until recently, my passion had nothing to do with blogging, or at least I had no idea that it did. Our passions make us who we are and it’s important that we identify what they are even if we
I’ve often asked myself if my life could be more passionate. In general, I’m an extremely passionate person and tend to be quite emotional about the things I believe in. When it comes to my career path however, I find that with so much of what I’ve done in the past, I’ve felt unfulfilled. I am a completely creative person but creativity isn’t really a career is it? (Or at least that’s what I’ve always been told). So instead, I’ve spent my life searching for something to do with myself career-wise
Life doesn’t always go the way we hope it to and often, when we take a knock so does our confidence. Things going wrong can leave us feeling despondent and quite honestly lacking in confidence in ourselves. It takes a long time to realise that failing once doesn’t make us a failure even though most of us have been conditioned to not allow ourselves the option of failure and as a result end up being really hard on ourselves when we do fail. Sometimes when we fall down, we need a little
