We interrupt this broadcast for a special announcement!

21st March 2015 By Jonelle

Hello lovelies,

I wanted to share the exciting news with you! After 3 long months, I can finally tell the world;

We are having a baby!!

We found out at 5 weeks and it has been pretty much smooth sailing since then with the exception of a little morning sickness. The baby is growing so well and will be born in September. Gerard and I are both over the moon and can’t wait to meet our little guy.

Obviously the world is about to change for us but we haven’t ever felt so lucky. We had originally been told we couldn’t conceive naturally and had begun the process of IVF when I discovered that nature had other plans for us.

One of the earliest signs was actually my dog Jessie’s sudden obsession with me. A usually unloving dog that suddenly couldn’t handle being more than 3cm’s from my face and wanted cuddles all day long. After a little googling, I discovered that it’s quite common for dogs to become unusually needy when their human moms get pregnant.

The hardest part, besides keeping this secret has been feeling exhausted all the time. I am constantly in need of a nap. The easiest part was giving up drinking any alcohol the second I found out. Honestly, I didn’t think it would be so easy to do and I’ve had a chuckle with all the wine related meme’s being shared on my Facebook timeline but there you have it.

Obviously my blog will change a little bit (not completely) to make room for the baby related stuff because what’s the point of blogging if I can’t blog about the things that matter to me, and my family is the single most important thing to me. If you’re not into baby stuff then you’ll probably just have to skip over those posts ;P

We can’t wait to meet

Oden Christopher Janse Van Rensburg

and yes, we have already chosen his name 🙂
